We produced design statement to guide architects and developers wanting to contribute to the Clyde Gateway. We held a workshop in Bridgeton Community Centre, inviting the community and professionals who had recent experience working in the area to share their aspirations for Clyde Gateway and discuss regeneration themes.
As the discussion went on, we found ourselves talking increasingly about the character of the area, based on its history, and our core values for redevelopment. Following the success of this workshop, we held a second intensive session with a further 25 community representatives including a number of young adults. The session examined the emerging themes and shared aspirations for the future of Clyde Gateway.
We used these outcomes to develop a guide which set the aspirations for the area and the values which would be used to judge proposals.
